The powers vested in you
“What is your relationship to spirit?” I asked one of my dearest friends. “I mean, How do you work with it? Live with it? Connect with it? Move through the day with it? How do you relate to it?”
She looked at me and smiled a knowing smile. “I’ve come to realize that it’s all you. You are it. It’s like that saying, ‘you are the universe.’ You are That. You can pay someone to retrieve your soul, or fix this or that, but no one can heal you. Only you can heal yourself — it’s all in you. That’s it. Someone can only tell you what you want to hear, or what you already know, but your experience comes from you. There is nothing outside of you that needs prayer or honoring. You need to honor yourself.”
